Labor Day Weekend

So...We decided to go to Logan for Labor Day weekend to visit w/ Mike's fam since we hadn't been up there in a while. We got up there Saturday afternoon & Mike's mom thought it would be fun to go eat at a Thai restaurant for dinner. None of us had really had Thai before but her so we thought it would be fun trying something new. Well...I'm not completely sold on the food but we had fun anyways. I will have to admit my favorite part was the appetizer (which I picked). The chicken was scrumptious!! And funny side note...while we were ordering Mike's mom ordered something & I was reading what was in it on the menu and it said Peanut Sauce. So I asked the waitress what Peanut Sauce was & everyone started laughing (including the waitress) & Mike's mom's face turned a nice cherry red, well I thought it was only because it was such a stupid question. Anyways, come to find out, I didn't exactly say "Peanut Sauce" but something else... I'll let you figure it out but it turned out to be a fun family joke, well atleast Mike seemed to think so. Here are some pics of our dinner:

For Labor Day we had all planned to have a relaxing day at Bear Lake & see Mike's grandparents at their cabin & of course get some well needed laying out & swimming in. Well, we should have known it was going to Snow there! How silly of us to expect otherwise. So yeah let's just say we didn't go but we improvised w/ the conditions and decided to go bowling. I haven't been bowling in quite awhile but I was certain that my Wii playing skills would get me a strike Every time! Well come to find out it's much easier to bowl in the Wii then at an actual bowling alley, but Mike was still very impressive! He got a spare or stike in EVERY frame but one durring our second game & of course took Victory!!! It was really fun & I think it's time to talk Mike into joining a Co-Ed Bowling League!! I think it would be Soo fun!! But I'm sure it will have to take a LOT of persuading considering my scores at the end of the day :(

Thanks Mike's fam for a Great Time!! And so you know in all the pictures it was Mike, Me, His Parents & his Sister Angie w/ her new hubby Dave :)

And I just wanted to post this because it reallly made me laugh! So whenever we are in Logan Mylo is a Pain in the Hiney because he won't leave their dog alone who is like 14 years old which is like a 100 years old in doggy years so let's just say he isn't up to much for playing. Anyways he doesn't sleep and he won't stop bugging him so whenever we come home he is zonked & sleeps hours (which we won't complain about). Anyways we stopped at the store on our way home and Mylo was sleeping & the sudden stop of the car woke him up & so when I looked back this is how I found him & he just sat there with no intention of getting the shirt off his face!! I took that as "Man did I have a Good Weekend"!! So of course I had to take a pic

Paige Is Turning One!

My little sister's baby girl, Paige, turns One year old tomorrow!! The whole fam was together last weekend so we celebrated it then & my sis did a Great job w/ her Party!! Paige is already obsessed w/ Dora the Explorer so she did the whole party around Dora the Explorer. She put together a map for the kids to follow just like on the TV show & the kids had a great time. You can go to her blog for a complete play by play of the whole event (she's linked on my page under Amber & Josh Hammand). Here is a pic of Mike & I possing as Dora & her sidekick Boots (Amber drew these). It was really funny to see everyone possing behind them, young & old.

It is also a tradition in our family, like most, to strip the kid down to their diaper and let them dig into their first cake. Well, Amber found directions for a Dora cake on Nick Jr. & somehow with Amber getting the party all together, I ended up taking over on the cake & I have to say I am really proud of myself!! I have never done a decorative cake before but it was alot of fun!! Below is a little step by step outline of how it went :)

Paige your Aunt Traci & Uncle Mike LOVE you VERY much and we hope you enjoyed your First Birthday!! Happy Birthday!!!

The Walker Reunion

The pic on the top is of my Grandma & Grandpa Walker & first off, Aren't they one goodlooking couple ?!?! Well I think so & neither one of them are with us anymore & we haven't had a Walker Reunion since my Grandpa passed away & that was the summer of '04. So my mom & dad decided it was time to reunite and so we did this last weekend in Saint George. It was great to see cousins and aunts and uncles that we hadn't seen in a while. We went to the Rec center in St. George where we swam, Bar-B-Que'd and battled in Sand Volleyball. And I have to say my team rock!! The rec center also had a lap pool, so after watching lots of Gold Medals won by Michael Phelps I thought it would be easy to swim the lap pool & let me tell you it is not as easy as he makes it look! I think it took me 5 minutes to swim one way :) Well, at least it helped me gain an even greater respect for him! Well, it was a great time and hopefully next year even more of the family will be able to make it.

What was also neat was that my Aunt Leanna made this awesome display of where our "family tree" began. It started with my Great Great Great Grandparents. Anyways it was really neat!!

Here are some pics of of some of the fam hanging out at the reunion, We had a great time & Thanks Mom & Dad for organizing it!!!

Well...I Guess It's My Turn

Alot of people have been doing this on their blogs & it's been so fun thinking of memories w/ them and reading the different memories that I thought I would give it a shot! I would LOVE for you to join along :) And also because I don't have much to post about right now except for the fact that I am STOKED that Breaking Dawn is out & I hope to have it all read very soon!! Anyways...

Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, post one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or alot, anything you remember.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

I can't wait to read what fun memories you all come up with :) And I hope you all have a memory with me! If not...Then we totally need to hang out more - haha ;)

Fun at Temple Square...

My sister Jennie and her fam came down for the weekend so they could go to Lagoon :) Although we probably weren't the "highlight" of the trip we had fun with them at Temple Square. I don't think the kids had been to Temple Square before so it was fun seeing their faces light up as they looked at the Pretty "Castle" (as Makayla put it). And it was night time so everything was lit up & it looked Soo Beautiful! We had a lot of fun taking pics and the kids even enjoyed riding Trax. I think overall they would agree it was much better than going to Lagoon...wink...wink ;) Here are some pics we took!

You will probably have to turn the volume ALL the way up to hear Makenna's wish (& turn the music down) as she tossed the penny into the wishing pond. I think her wish went something like "I Wish...I Wish Alot of Stuff...I can have Fun Everyday!" I thought it was cute & Benna I hope your wish comes true!

A Wonderful Blessing...

Mike & I were very fortunate to get to attend the sealing of Baby Cianna to her parents, Brandon & Kim (I hope you don't mind me posting this, Kim). Brandon & Kim are some of the strongest people I know. They definately endured a lot before welcoming Cianna into their family. She definately was sent to them for a reason & It was such a neat experience for us to be there to see that final confirmation take place! We have never attended a sealing before with a child and when they brought Cianna into the Sealing Room she truly looked like an Angel. Everyone had tears in their eyes.

Brandon & Kim I am soo happy for you & I can't thank you enough for letting Mike & I be apart of that special day!

Left - Poor Cianna had allergies & even with the booger hanging out her little nose I still found this picture too cute not to post!! Right - Just a cute pic of Kim admiring her baby girl :)

American Idol Tour...

Last Tuesday my old roomy Allison & I went to the American Idol Tour Concert in Salt Lake. Yes I am an American Idol Freak!! Well, our seats weren't considered half bad - we were lined right up with the stage but we were up a little high in the section but we could still see everyone really good. Well...I convinced Allison that we needed to work our Mojo and get down lower in the section because the stage had a pop out that went out right by the lower section. Well, at intermission we made our move & Victory was ours!!! Yes we were THIS close (the pic is of Brooke White) we were soo close that our zoom was a little Too much to focus on our Idols!! It was AWESOME! We were soo close that Kristi Lee Cook (the one that sings country) GRABBED my left hand. Not just touched but GRABBED!! I have to admit I had a wee bit of a moment w/ her...haha!!!! Mike still teases me about how I excited I got over a GIRL grabbing my hand. But just so you know the two David's got pretty close as well but other girls seemed to get in the way. Below are some fun pics of the concert & of course some live footage. They ALL sounded Soo good!!! Definately better Live then on TV :) Well, I hope I made some of you jealous & if you don't like American Idol feel free to think I'm a dork but just know that deep down inside you still are a little bit envious :)!!!

And this is a pic of the let's call him "Concert Cheerleader" he's the one that gets all the fans screaming and hollering at the beginning & Intermission of the concert. Well I may not know anything about him, BUT he posed for me for a pic durring Intermission so that made me feel special. Soo special in fact I am posting it now :) (Still not Jealous???)

Here is some of the Live Footage I got. Both David's are tied for Favorite so I thought I would post one of each. I have others as well but this post is already getting pretty long...

David Cook was Killer!!!

But of course I love my HomeBoy Archy (Aka David Archileto sp?) Sorry this video is sideways but he sounded soo good on it and I can't seem to get it to flip around but o'well it's still fun to watch

I took a TON OF PICS but here are just a few of my Favorites :)

A Great Saturday...

I had a really good Saturday this last weekend :) First, it began w/ my sweet husband! Yes I am going to brag for a moment!! Well, we have started the tradition of celebrating 1/2 birthdays since there are way to many holidays wrapped around our birthdays then nothing happens forever, so we thought celebrating our 1/2 birthday was much needed (ok so I thought it was but he went along with it) Well...this year I totally forgot his!! I felt so bad cause I didn't remember it until it was a Week past his. He said it was fine so I definately wasn't expecting anything. Well, of course my hubby likes to make me feel even worse & he has a better memory than I (yes - it's true...I am more likely to forget an anniversary than he would) So Saturday after already being upset with him for being really late for our lunch date w/ some friends...he came home with a bouqette of flowers, a sweet card, and a movie for me. It was Soo Sweet!! I totally forgot it was even my 1/2 birthday! What a sweet Hubby :) I Love You Sooo Much!!! And...I tried not to be mad anymore.
Then...I got to go to lunch w/ an old Roomy - Michelle from my 2nd year at BYU-Idaho!! We really clicked from the beginning - which was mostly due to the fact that we both liked boys and we really liked hanging out with boys (not that the other roomys didn't like boys, they were just more of the "home body" type if you know what I mean). It was soo great seeing her. She has two little boys now which are super cute & definately full of a lot of energy! Thanks Michelle for lunch & thanks for coming Becca!! Hmm...Do we look like we have aged at all??

Next I attended a Lual (sp?) themed Bridal Shower for my friend Angie Rosenburg, to help her get "Leid" (sp?) which was thrown by my friend Brittany Gerard. Brittany definately knows how to throw a party. I won't go into all the details as to what games were played but it was definately a party for friends and not soo much the grandma's and ma's...if you know what I mean. But we sure did laugh alot & have alot of fun!!! Below are some fun pics of the party! In the pics are Me, Brittany Gerard, Rachelle Jarimello (Olsen), Angie Rosenburg(soon to be DeGraw, Victoria Driscoll (Ogden), Wendy Blackburn (can't remember her new last name) & the little girl in the pic is Victoria's baby, Nykelle. She was so cute!! She ate like 5 bananas & who knows how many cupcakes. So the pic of her is her with cupcake frosting all over her face. It was too cute not to post (yes I have a tendancy of posting pics of other people's kids until I get some of my own). Also Brittany gave Angie the ULTIMATE KILLER Bridal gift. She gave her a chest (really it was a chest) filled with everything you could possible need to help start off a "fun" marriage & then a whole bunch more to help keep things Hott!! Britt way to go on the gift!! Angie, you better tell us what are "Must Haves" & "Must Don'ts)

Victoria's husband & my husband went golfing while we were at the shower. So...when it was done they met up with us & since we NEVER see Rachelle we went out to dinner afterwards. (well...mostly for the boys cause they didn't have the yummy Hawaiian Haystacks at the party). Anyways, Nykelle was having so much fun playing w/ Mike so I had to take a pic :) And here is one of us girls as well.

So a good Saturday Indeed!!

4th of July in Idaho...

Finally after like 6 years I got to go back to Idaho for the 4th of July!! I have been looking forward to this day for like 6 years now :) I am such a sucker for fireworks & Idaho Fall's fireworks will always be instilled in my heart as "The Best of the West of the Mississippi"!! I have shared this belief with Mike for 4 years now & he finally got to enjoy them with me, but besides just the fireworks we had a really great time in Idaho this weekend.

First, it started with lunch w/ my dear friend Nicole Stucki & her sis Lindsey. It was so great seeing you again Nicole!! If I had a blog when we lived together it would have been filled with lots of random things & lots of stories of all the FREE stuff we got. We definately had a great summer together :) Then we headed off to the Menan parade. And let me tell ya Mike & Josh (Amber's husband) were extremely impressed! Ok, so maybe they totally laughed at it but it was so fun being there & the carnival afterwards brought so many memories back...well mostly because I ran into so many great friends that I hadn't seen in way too long. I totally goofed and didn't take pictures with anyone but I did get a pic of me w/ the Jones! I love that I can still talk to them like we had never been apart! They are such a great family :) Below is a little scrap page of some of the fun pics we took there (the baby in the pic is my adorable niece, Paige - they were too cute not to post & the cowboy is a great representation of what you will find in Menan - haha - ok he was in the parade but by looking at him you had no way of knowing what he was suppose to be sponsoring):

Then of course it was time for the fireworks! We got there at like 5 so there was plently of time to take the boys for a walk around the Greenbelt (I wanted Mike to experience EVERYTHING)! Again saw some good friends & then it was time to experience the infamous fireworks!! Of course they were awesome & Mike even admited they were pretty darn good, except he said that it wasn't the fireworks that stole the show, it was just the whole atomosphere which I would totally have to agree with. Although we took lots of pics of the fireworks below is a scrap page of pics w/ the fam since we got to spend a lot of time with the family this weekend. The only people missing were my parents & Steve & his family - hopefully we'll all be together next year!

Saturday we started off the day golfing. I, of course, just drove the cart but it was fun watching Mike, Josh & Amber play! And Mike won - Go Mike!! Then we had a long needed nap before we headed off to the Snell's for dinner. We can always rely on the Snell's for some good ol' cookin'!! (For those that don't know they Snell's they are long time family friends of ours that will never get rid of us) Afterwards we just played around & then a fun little football game developed & below are some pics of that fun!! In the pics w/ us are Nate & Becca Stander (Snell)

Then we made our journey back home on Sunday. It was a great trip!! Hopefully Mike will let us go back for the 4th many more years to come :) Sorry for such the long post w/ all the pics and pretty much an itinerary of our weekend but I wanted you to get a feel of what a great time we had!! also if you want to see more pics and explanations of pretty much the same thing you can visit my sister's blog (Amber Hammond)! She's much better than me at putting up cute posts quickly!! Thanks Amber, Josh & of course Paige for coming with us & Jennie for letting us stay with you!! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th as well!!! I LOVE our Freedom!!!

A Beautiful Idaho Sunset

In Laws Versus In Laws...

Ok maybe it wasn't so much like that, but the other weekend we got the privilege of hanging out with both our parents :) This doesn't happen very often since Mike's family lives in Logan & my parents are in St. George but my family was coming to town for some golf tournaments & Mike's parents were coming down for the REAL soccer game & before you knew it we were all going to the game together. We had a really good time. We met up for dinner then rode Trax to the game. I even think my family enjoyed the game. For those of you that don't know my family they are Golf Fanatics & soccer is low on their radar but I think by the end of the game they were understanding what was happening and we even Won! Go REAL!! Here are some of the highlights of the day :)

Here we all are at the game - Left to Right: Mike's parents-us-Tyson-My Parents

Go REAL!!

Mike enjoying a yummy pretzel while Tyson cools off w/ a slushy (it sure was warm)

Tyson & I showing off some of his cool Tom Cruise look-a-like sunglasses he got that day at the Gateway!

We had a great weekend and we always love when family comes to visit!! My family was actually here for 5 days! Which is a record since we always tease them that we are just a pit stop from one golf course to the next :) We Love Ya!! Come back and visit again Real Soon!!
